I really wanted to like this place. It was recommended by everyone we talked to locally. We got the Sea Urchin, the Fish and Chips and the Caviar. The Sea Urchin was tiny but had good flavor. My bites were a little gritty, which took me out of the moment. The caviar came in a fried shell, which seems really cool, but then you pierce the puff shell and the eggs come shooting out and it became like a very expensive game of Hungry Hungry Hippos. This dish struck me as a cool idea but the execution just didn't match and it make it harder to enjoy. The fish and chips were good. Again, it was a smaller portion but the fries were good and the remoulade was also nice if not a little thick. The service was hit and miss. The initial intro was great and the explanations by the runners of the dishes as they brought them was also perfect. Our waitress sort of disappeared after that, which I get is part of the culture here that shuns hovering from staff, but it seemed a little excessive. I'd probably give this a 3, but I'm also appreciative of the fact that I'm not the biggest seafood person, so it's possible that these dishes might be heaven to someone else. I did enjoy the hot dog I had right after this next door, though.

Food and service were excellent. Every dish was really interesting and extremely savory- wiping down the sauces with the also excellent homemade bread. Wines were also delicious- ordered by the glass, tended to follow recommended pairings even though we ordered a la carte. A very special meal. Was weird that it wasnt crowded (8:30 Sat night) but it was all great.

We had a wonderful dinner here our last night in Copenhagen. We had reservations for 6:30pm and the place was empty when we arrived. It wasn't until we sat down at our table did we realize that it was a tasting menu, which was a surprise but it turned out great. We all chose the three course menu (the other option is five courses) with two dishes (we all went for the Skate and Beef tenderloin) and one dessert (Strawberry sorbet with white chocolate). Two in our party added the wine pairings (three courses and three wines) to their meal. The food and wine were delicious and the portions were just right. Each dish was artfully presented. We also enjoyed the coziness of the restaurant. The service was okay, our waiter forgot to bring the last glass of wine. If you're looking for a fancy dinner in a historic location this is a great place to check out.
