What a gorgeous little village Walhalla is.So much history to see as you walk around. It's extra unusual as most of the old Miners Cottages & houses are are all built on the side of the high cliffs.Even the Cemetery which is very strange.Lovely old Railway Train trip.Great little shops & Cafés to go to.We went to The Wally Pub for lunch & we were told they are big serves & they were from what we saw.We decided on 3 starter dishes which were excellent.Highly Recommend for a great day out.

Rawson Stockyard Bar & Bistro

So...the location is great, a quiet part of the area and it has great rustic value. But, when we arrived just after opening and waited 80 minutes for food, with a toddler, it turned what we were hoping would be a quiet night into a stressful and late night for our daughter. The meals, when they arrived were poor, one lamb cutlet was raw and the veggies felt like they had been zapped in a microwave. I get it was school holidays and was busy, and you have signs alerting people it can take awhile, but 80 minutes was poor.

Was told don’t bother by a lady in a cafe in Walhalla but took a chance given the alright reviews on this site. Was not disappointed thankfully. We had pizzas, garlic prawns and burger. All was fantastic. Saw the Parma’s and the hot rock steaks which also looked amazing (I just can’t be bothered cooking my own - I don’t pay good money to cook my own but that’s just my opinion). Although gloomed easy enough. We are going back to the cafe in the morning to let the cafe worker know that she was wrong. But also thanks to the lady at the Mountain Rivers Tourist park where we are staying that also recommended this place.
