From 1975–1998 it belonged to the former Legnica Voivodeship. Lubin is the administrative seat of Lubin County, and also of the rural district called Gmina Lubin, although it is not part of the territory of the latter, as the town forms a separate urban gmina. As of the 2009 census, the town had a total population of 74,552.

"Alternatywa" is the pizzeria in the basement, located in the central part of Lublin, a bit off the main tourist route.It's a cosy place with a large selection of really large pizzas and nicely decorated salads and crepes.The negative side is the cigarette smoke and a TV playing in the corner of the room.

This is definitely a pub, and I'm generally a teetotaler, but the pizza here is great. They also have free wifi. Smacznego!
