F & F just has to be the best bar scene between Greensboro and Durham. It reminds me so much of good bars in Chicago: sophisticated, but comfortable. The short list of wine and beers is a good thing; quality clearly precedes quantity, and the knowledgeable staff are prepared to help you make the right decision based on your particular palate. House cocktails are attentively prepared with quality ingredients. Small plates are availabe if you have the "munchies"; the small, but rich, cheese board is particularly recommendable. The sitting area is furnished with comfortable sofas, armchairs, and small tables to make flexible and perfectly intimate conversation areas, but also allow the customer a good opportunity to "people watch." Highly recommended, this upscale "watering hole" is located above Press on Main Street with its own entrance just to the right of the cafe.The music, though appropriate for an adult scene, was a bit loud, but we were so happy there was no TV, that we didn't complain. Many kudos go to the owners and designers as well as best wishes for success for this venue. We were there on a Friday night and there was a respectable, and impressively diverse, crowd.Hey there Phil,Thanks so much for a great, thorough review. We definitely keep our lists small. They rotate a lot, and we want people to experience new things...even if it sometimes scares them the first time.And never hesitate to give any feedback on music or so on when you visit..we sometimes might not realize it's gotten louder when more people were there and time to ease it back, etc. Thanks again!

Let's face it between Fontana Village and the Tennessee side there's not a whole lot of eating options. This is a fairly friendly "touring type" bikers stop; your neighbor on a Harley? But if you're taking a mountain drive and it's lunch time...drive carefully around the long rows of "choppers," park your car, and treat your family to some pretty decent grill food. Seeing all the folk in their motorcycle regalia and the "tail of the dragon autographed T shirts" tacked to the ceiling is fun! Did I mention the $4. drafts? The kids will love it! Everybody gets carded!

We are Burlingtonâs co-op brewery and restaurant located in the historic downtown. We believe that a strong community is built around engaged businesses that give back to their community and that there is no better model than the co-op for this purpose. O

We stopped here for an early dinner and found the greeting very nice. We both had the burger. The onions cooked in beer and the bacon jam were really good toppings. We both enjoyed our burgers. I ordered mine well done and it was but my husband ordered his medium and it was almost well done. The sweet potato chips were really good. The pale ale was very good. The prices are in line with similar places in other cities. Service was good.
