Stayed here during the British Girls Open Golf Championship at Panmure. The hotel was not fancy but was very clean and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Staff took an interest in how the girls staying there were doing in competition and offered packed lunches and late dinners if needed. The food was good and the bar had a busy, friendly atmosphere. It was close to the golf club and offered drying facilities which thankfully we didn't need. A perfect base for golfers.

We booked a table for four and we were seated by the window in the main dining room which was very nice and clean . Linen tablecloths and good service added to the pleasant dining. The food choice was good and the Belhaven beer was excellent. The Salmon dish was well prepared. tasted delicious and the portions were large. As always the steak pie was stupendous. We will definitely return again when visiting Carnoustie.

Went for Lunch today with my friend around 230pm. The place was pretty empty so no probs for seat.Food was reasonable had a lasagne and a ciabatta sandwich and 2 soft drinks which came to around £18 which was value for money.Menus overall looked nice ranging from lunch, evening meal and Sunday lunch. I'm not sure I would return not so much for the food but for the chef that was propped at end of bar before we were served. Also when our meals were served she then went out to outdoor area in chef whites and proceeded to smoke. I think this is 1 very unprofessional and 2 would make me consider her lack of hygiene.Kitchen staff should not be encouraged to do this so obvious in establishment if not at all in staff uniforms. Management should really sort this out!!!!We are pleased you comment positively on our menus and prices, but are very disappointed to hear of the scene you witnessed- which understandably left you with a negative impression. Whilst we agree it is not appropriate for any staff to smoke in front of customers, we would like to reassure you that food preparation and hygiene is of utmost importance to us. Today all staff were spoken to regarding professionalism, and have been reminded of the designated smoking area, away from customers. We do hope you chose to return in the future, as we are currently putting more focus on staff training, we and woud hope you would have an improved experience next time. Our sincere apologies once again.
