Authentic portuguese food cooked and served with pride.
Whilst it is advisable to book before you go, the restaurant is a must visit if you enjoy Portuguese food. The views over Kalk Bay Harbour are good but the food is the main event. The Peri-peri sauce, is first class. The do not have a liquor licence, so you can bring your own and there is no corkage to pay. The vibe in the restaurant is one of everyone enjoying themselves. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff.

We visit Cape Town at least twice a year. Last April we discovered Carla's. One is slightly apprehensive at first, as it is an uninspiring small place, wedged down a side street in Muizenberg. Having overcome that uncertainty, taken the plunge and ordered from the minimalistic menu, the rest of the evening is great. There are only about four items on the menu, but as Carla herself says, if you don't want prawns, why come here? We had a party of 8 to celebrate a family birthday. All 8 ordered prawns and all 8 were blown away. If you are a lover of Mozambique prawns/langoustines, this is the best place in South Africa for them. We will be back there next week, for another feast, just before we return home.

One of my favorite restaurants great food awesome staff, beautiful view that looks out onto the ocean and you can also see the Naval dockyard and ships...when you walk in you are greeted with a smile and you feel at home the surrounding make you feel comfortable. They have a great menu and lots to choose from and they also have craft beer on tap or you can choose from their bar selection. They also have a TV for the Saturday sport lovers and a sport finger menu if you do not want anything big ( but very filling and tasty eg.ribs to chicken strips and chips) they also cater for functions and their Christmas lunch if you dont feel like cooking that day...I fully recommend this restaurant.Hi Rosemary.Thank you so much for this lovely review. That is correct, we do cater for functions and also open on Christmas Day doing a lovely 3-course lunch. We do have a TV for sporting events yes.We hope to see you soon and also glad you enjoy the food.Kind Regards.Chef Sean
