Romano's is a cozy and classic Italian and Sicilian restaurant located in historic Julian, California.
My wife and I had recently came across a recommendation for this facility in a book published in 1997. We were hesitant to see how time had treated the establishment after 20 plus years. We were pleasantly surprised - the ambiance was quaint and romantic. The meals were delicious, the service was right for a romantic meal (not too fast), and the value was great! The salad that came with the meals were antipasto-style with meat, cheese, peppercinis and croutons. The main meals (I had the Wild Atlantic Salmon Piccata, my wife had the Pasta Pacifica) were large enough to be our lunch the next day. We will definitely return next time we are in Julian!

Large brewery and eatery located on historic Main St. Julian. We specialize in casual dining, varied seating options, events, and live music. We serve handcrafted beers along with local wines, handtossed pizzas, REAL BBQ, and small plates.
After watching our grandson's high school baseball game, we took him to celebrate at the Julian Beer Company. It was a Friday night and this small tourist town of less than 2,000 inhabitants was jumping with tourists. Being on the Pacific Coast Trial, many of the hikers were enjoying themselves here. We chose the Garlic Artichoke pizza and were pleasantly surprised how good it was. A little pricey, but then again, you're in a tourist locations. The beer was excellent. So, if you're in the area of Julian and want to have a treat, try The Julian Beer Co. or JBC, I don't think you will be disappointed. The next time, I want to try their pork ribs. I hear they're delicious.
Where to eat American food in Julian: The Best Restaurants and Bars

Traveled through Julian for a nice early fall vacation. Got to experience a few of the local restaurants around the area and this was one of them. The food wasn't bad by any means, just not anything we didn't feel we had eaten before. Finding a place to eat inside was a little hard, it was fairly busy, but we found a table for us and the kids. I would eat here again, but i would have tempered my expectations a little bit since I've tried it before.
