We were staying at Hotel Nord and with a storm coming didn't fancy going into Piacenza.I googled the area and this is the only restaurant that had good ratings other than it was a truckie stop so had rustic clients.Hubby and I bit the bullet and I'm glad we did.Our food was just like we would have at home, the white wine carafe was really nice and service was good.Only downside - English isn't strong htere and no wifi to translate the menu, our waiter had some English but after googling when we got back I would have ordered other things.Love that you can look at the veges/salad and choose what you want, they serve it for you which is great as it means other diners aren't contaminating food.Keen to go back.We were going to have dessert but we were full.If you are in the area and looking for a good home cooked meal ignore the truckie comments and go there.Re the truckers yes they are there, but they are just like you and me, getting a good meal!

Divine, loved it, everything super, both the food and the wine, I especially adored the vegetable strudel with rosemary fonduta, very special and delicious. Also the veal punta al forno was fantastic, as "advertised" on the menu. But if you go, do try the strudel, unique. I don't know about the price because our friends paid the bill.

I had already researched this place when the hotel recommended it. I was happy to be there for pranzo on a cloudy day: Soup to nuts! Decor was a bit modern for me. Everything else was straight As. I loved the local feel with the "regulars" getting their tables. When everything is so good I guess you always wish for larger portions! Auguri!
