Reviews on Neapolitan food in Ljubljana, Upper Carniola Region, Slovenia. Slovenia, wedged between Austria and Italy, has always been proud of its unique heritage. The capital, Ljubljana, is a perfect example of this blend of German, Mediterranean, and Slovenian culture. The old town is a blend of Baroque, Renaissance, and Art Nouveau buildings, watched over by a medieval castle. Cut through the gardens of Tivoli Park to the National Museum of Contemporary History for a history of modern Slovenia, featuring crumbled statues of Stalin and a recreation of a WWI trench.

A little piece of Italy in the heart of Ljubljana offers amazing pizza made by real Italian pizzaiolo, true Italian pasta, big salads and yummy desserts. Also gluten-free pizza and pasta is available.
We came here on our first night in Ljubljana, but we are planning to go back, since the pizza was really really good. Huge pizza with amazing dough, great and friendly service, we can only recommend it. We had tried the one with prosciutto and one with raw beef slices and rocket. Both were super tasty, maybe the best pizza we ever had. Value is also great, these pizzas were EUR 11 each, if I remember correctly. Also, the service was really quick.Dear Zsófia P, thank you for your visit and a very kind review. Please, visit us again soon and try some of our amazing pasta, salads and desserts too. Have a nice day! Team Capriccio

First pizzeria in Ljubljana serving Neapolitan pizza.
There are lots of places serving wood-fired pizza in Ljubljana, but this one is a bit out of the pedestrian tourist zone in the Poljane neighborhood. Itâs worth the extra short walk to check out what some people say is the cityâs best pizzeria. In some ways itâs a victim of its own popularity because all of the tables in the two small dining rooms were either occupied or reserved on a Friday night at 6pm. A waitress sat us down at a reserved table and said we had an hour to eat before the reservation showed up. Service was a bit casual but all was forgiven when the pizzas showed up. Generous amount of fluffy burrata and other cheeses on my primavera, my companionâs pie was paved with cured ham. The crust manages to be soft and crispy at the same time, with the distinctive black dots marking it as truly Neapolitan. The waiter finally smiled when we said how much we liked it. No beer on tap, only craft and local beers in bottles. Pizza was 5 stars and I would definitely come back with a reservation for the front room next time.
