Oasis

We caught a taxi from the town to Oasis only 6 euros. Oasis is located high up in the hills, so the views from the restaurant are really beautiful. We arrived early at about 1.30 and were the first customers. We were greeted and seated by a really charming waitress. Later the restaurant was almost full (it was a Saturday). We were given bread pate and olives €1 while we looked at the menu, We started with aubergines salad €6 as recommended by them - interesting. We then chose 2 tajines (in Ceuta they spell that tallines), one chose lamb with fruits €12 and the other chose pollo a la marroqui (chicken topped with a hard-boiled egg) €10. Ceuta borders Morocco so we were expecting really excellent tajines, but we have probably had tastier tajines in mainland Spain. We finished with Moroccan tea which was very sweet and cakes €3.50. Overall the food was good, but the location overlooking the straits of Gibraltar (you can see the Rock of Gibraltar on a clear day) made the overall experience very good.
