Mythos is an experience. The owner is a bit forward but elevates a meal into a memorable experience. She is direct, full of stories and spit on with food and wine recommendations. Stuffed grape leaves and lightly fried calamari with jalapeño dipping sauce left my wife and I wanting more, but very full and glad we decided to split a gyro with Greek potatoes and simple Greek side salad did not disappoint. We savored the meal with a glass of red wine that was a cross between a merlot and Cabernet. The grand finale was a lemon custard between filo dough with spanakopita to go.What a great meal and we look forward to visiting again during our next visit.

Yekta Kabobi is a unique family owned and operated authentic Persian restaurant. We were the first middle eastern grocery store and restaurant in the DC metropolitan area, and have been around since 1979. We specialize in the making of all types of kabobs
The four of us went to Yekta for dinner ahead of a concert at the Strathmore about 15 minutes down the road. First, it was quiet. Second, the menu had several unusual items which made it tough to choose. Hire, and most important for me, the hummous and he Zeytoon Parvardeh (green olives and walnuts marinated with pomegranate molasses, herbs and garlic) that came with our Mezze plate were spectacular. All the flavors for both starters and main meals were intense and wonderful, but I could only so much before my taste buds were worn out. The desserts, which we had no time or room for, looked unusually interesting. Next time, we'll act as though this place is a Persian tapas restaurant and make a meal of the starter spreads.
We thought this would be a more upscale restaurant because of its location in this lovely square. It's more of a cafeteria style place. The food was good. We had Anna's platter. Chicken shawarma with Lebanese rice, hummus and salad. It was all quite tasty. We ordered babaganoush and it was very good as well. We ordered lemonade which was good but overly sweet and they have this interesting raisin and date drink which was unique. Everything was fairly inexpensive. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Our cafes are a bit different from our restaurants however we are proud to deliver the same great foods! The babaganoush is a popular item and well as the shawarmas. Thank you again for dining with us and we hope to see you again!
