I started off going to Pelancho's in the area as my go to mexican restaurant... it was my favorite at the time. Then El Gallo opened, and I tried it. There is still some room for improvement, and depending on the dish I order, there can be something missing. It's hard to say what it is but sometimes it just leaves me wishing it was just a little better. I love their burritos, but they aren't anything above and beyond other restaurants, although El Gallo is more consistent with their quality than the other places. Their killer dish is their fajitas. They have the best fajitas in the area by far, and I would recommend them. I also love their guacamole. It is freshly made, and isn't just some baby poop/baby food mush that looks like it came out of a prepackaged bag of slime. Only decent guacamole I've had in the Middlesboro/Tazewell/Harrogate area at a restaurant!

I am always excited by an Americanized Mexican Restaurant offers mole in any form. These guys have a surprisingly different take on mole. Instead of the dark brown chocolatey mole sauce most of us are familiar with, theirs is a lighter more tomato based sauce with a hint of cocoa. Very nice for summer mole. Carnitas were tender and flavorful. Probably your best bet for a sit down dinner restaurant in Tazewell. Prices were right with leftovers for home to boot! Great service and very clean.
