By the outside, you may not feel like stopping. You will be missing a nice local place. Honest food, honest prices and service with a smile. Some of the food needed the extra pop of the supplied salsa or hot sauce. This is not necessarily a bad thing to me.

On our way back to Houston we stopped here for lunch. We opted for the buffet, lots of dishes: chicken, beef, ground beef, salad, refried and charro beans, rice, soups, fruit, etc. Well stocked buffet and homemade corn and flour tortillas to your table. Recommend it for good Mexican food.

The Star of Texas restaurant in Falfurrias where we went eat lunch was good. They started out with chips and salsa and it was very good. This also was a little spicy but mostly mild and the chips were good and crisp. They served us our drink and took our food order in a timely manner. The chicken enchiladas Suiza was very tasty the Spanish rice was a little moist very good the beans had a good flavored rum and the sauce they put on the enchiladas was a little spicy but not too much. All in all a very good meal for the money I recommend that you try out star restaurant Falfurrias next time you're in the area.
