It is included in the Danville, Virginia Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was originally called Competition, but the name was changed to Chatham by the Virginia General Assembly on May 1, 1852.

I have eaten at this restaurant many times over the years and this was the poorest experience ever. The orders were mixed up and it was the longest ever on receiving food. We had to ask for everything, drink refills, parts of our order and why others were getting food and we had not. Basically was told, we are busy and having "issues" in the kitchen. We had our grandson with us and after waiting almost an hour for food, he was full on chips and ready to leave. May be a while before returning.

Our relatives are regulars, so we go to El Cazador each time we visit Pittsylvania County. We have enjoyed everything we've had from the varied menu.The pork, available in red or green sauce, compares with what we have enjoyed in Mexico many times. Overall, the restaurant equals most Tex Mex places in Dallas, Austin, or San Antonio.Be hungry when you go. The portions are very large.

We have been many times and had different dishes, but each time it seemed to get even better!!! I like extremely hot salsa, they are the only Mexican in the area that have spicy salsa. The staff is great and helps me with my Spanish. They have a great staff and best of all, prices are reasonable!!
