Ein Bokek is a hotel complex by the Dead Sea with few independent restaurants. The Taj Mahal is one of the only free standing restaurants and it is a more pleasant, cheaper and better quality place to eat than the hotel restaurants.
If you like an eclectic atmosphere this is the place. It is named after a palace in India, but the food is mediteranian/midd and east and the decor is like a Bedouin tent. The food is well prepared and well presented along with good service. The price is quite reasonable. You won't ever dine alone here even at a table for one. The resturant has a pride of parlour panthers (kitties) that roam the floor looking for a taste of whats for dinner. These cats are not pets so dont try to pet them. However they are not really a nusance either, and I enjoyed the fun of them joining us for dinner as they were pretty well behaved. Good fun, good food. Well done all around.

Nice concept of combining Italian food with some Russian elements.Great pizzas and calzones, warm atmosphere, fast and polite service, reasonable prices. We came here with couple of friends for a lunch and the place was pretty fool. Definetly worth the visit while you are at the area!
