Reviews on Mediterranean food in Cuijk, North Brabant Province, The Netherlands. Cuijk (Dutch pronunciation: [kœyk] ( listen)) is a municipality and a town in upper southeastern Netherlands of pre-historic origin. Its existence is recorded on the Roman roadmap Tabula Peutingeriana under the name of Ceuclum. Cuijk is twinned with Maldon in Essex, UK. It is a big commuter town with very good public transport services to nearby Nijmegen. The nearest hospital is at Boxmeer and the nearest international airport is situated in the German town of Weeze. Cuijk has a railway station on the Nijmegen to Venlo railway.

Honesty bides me to say that I usually don't have very high expectations from local restaurants - either the food is not inspiring or the service is lacking, causing the whole dining experience to be a bit lopsided. Fortunately, the experience at De Sjalot could not have been better. The service was excellent - even though our server had only been employed for a few days, her knowledge of the dishes and the cuisine was exceptional, her smile dazzling and her overall demeanor friendly, kind and inviting. The Moroccan-inspired food was superb - each dish, including the complimentary amuse, was beautifully prepared and plated with care and eye for detail. We ate more than we should have, stayed longer than planned and enjoyed every minute of it! You know that a dish is good when, weeks later, you can still picture it in your head and remember exactly how it looked, smelled and tasted. The quality of the ingredients, carefully and locally sourced (the chef has her own vegetable garden), and the love and care that goes into the preparation and plating of these dishes is fantastic and, in my experience, hard to find. Highly recommended.

GRANO is an Italian inspired restaurant, where everything on the menu is homemade. We work with a small menu in which the freshness of the products is of main importance. Other than the pasta's or pizza's we offer our guests the option to choose our weekl
At the foot of a hill with many possibilities for a walk (especially during autumn foliage season) a couple of restaurants are available for hungry walkers. We choose to dine at Grano because we were in the mood for Italian food. The staff (and specially our waitress) was excellent and very friendly. We had a pizza and a Spaghetti Vongole and both were prepared well. The pizza had a nice thin crust and tasted very fresh. The balance of flavours of our pasta and pizza is something that can still be improved. It all tasted nice but also bland. The in- and exterior is great so with some extra care regarding the food this place can become a standout place in the area.Dear DiBos,We would like to thank you for your time and effort in reviewing our restaurant. We highly appreciate the compliments that you give us with regards to our interior and employees! We will share the positivity within our team and incorporate the improvement points in our evaluations. We hope we may welcome you again in beautiful Plasmolen!Kind regards,Piet & Mariam.
A typical middle-western fast-food spot, it offers shoarma, doner-kebabs, pizzas and pasta at very low prices, starting at 4 euro. Regular taste (not loaded with middle-eastern spices, which is good). Some tables outside offer a view of this peaceful downtown.
