This place has authentic food from the Dominican Republic and Caribbean. I've tried several things here and all have been excellent. I recently had the Cuban sandwich, which is a large portion. I definitely recommend it. Also the sweet plantains are my favorite. This is a no frills kind of place, almost a fast food style. But the food is great, and the people are super friendly.

We had lunch at La Cocina for the first time. The restaurant is large with ample seating. The menu is typical Mexican fare as was the food. My spouse's spinach quesadilla was disappointing. My burrito was ordinary with the usual rice and refried beans. We will look for another eatery the next time we are in Clayton.

As a former "Road Warrior", with over 20 years traveling for business, I really appreciate a good meal, good service, nice atmosphere and clean restaurant.\Overall just "Average", but I think they could do a lot BETTER if they added more staff to this location and changed the menu a little.AtmosphereNeeding a little attention. Went to dinner at 6pm on a Saturday night and there was no one in the restaurant. A group of older people entered just before my wife and I, and we looked at each other and asked "Are they Open?"The restaurant was empty, the chairs in the bar were on top of the bar and no staff around. A timid young man came out dressed in jeans and a shirt, didn't know if he was staff, and we both asked him if the restaurant was open.ServiceSlow, primarily because they had 1 person, the same person, waiting on table, cashier and cleaning tables, and a very timid and maybe inexperienced person. Food was slow coming out of the kitchen too, probably only 1 person in the kitchen too.MenuWe came to eat at this restaurant because it was suppose to be Peruvian food. When we looked at the menu, my wife and I were confused, because it had items like fried rice to items more like Mexican food.Menu needs help too.TV in RestaurantOne would think if they had a TV or video on in the restaurant, being a Peruvian restaurant, that it would have something about Peru, but it didn't. Doesn't make any sense to me.
