I just checked and it is three years since I gave this restaurant a glowing review. Having been a long time visitor since it first opened in Bluewater over 20 years ago, the last few years have seen choices and quality of dishes fall and many dishes disappear, especially prawn dishes. For the first time ever today, I was very disappointed in virtually every dish we chose or ordered. The conveyor belt offered nothing but rice dominated tit bits and even our favourite sashimi salmon and tuna didn't seem to be as fresh and firm as they used to be. Soft shell crab has disappeared and the only prawn dish was one fried in breadcrumbs. Sad to see such a swift deterioration of this famous chain and not as though there are many such restaurants to choose from. Sadly, we are going to say goodbye to Yo and next time we visit Bluewater we shall go to another restaurant and have no interest in visiting a new one now opened in Ashford. Guess it is also down to people with kids just wanting something quick, cheap and tasteless and think they are eating Japanese.Hi Travelwise207 thank you for taking the time to leave us your honest feedback. Every year we change our menu to make it better and better. We remove the least popular dishes and increase production of the most popular ones. Also constantly improving already existing dishes. I am sorry to hear that you haven't found anything interesting for you as we keep changing our menu to follow food trends and our customers don't have to eat another boring sandwich but they can eat in colour. Hope you have a great day

I do love a Wagamama. But what I donât love is a newly refurbished Wagamama whose designers have taken into no consideration the acoustics of the final product on a busy Saturday lunchtime. The waitress was shouting at us to take our order, we couldnât have a conversation with each other without repeating every other sentence in increasing crescendo. My anxiety was so bad I had to order (twice, I add, because the waiter mustâve forgotten the first time, what with all the brain fog from the noise) a sake to chill my nerves. We were also sat at a table that was supposedly large enough for our party, but meant that my husband, our wriggly three-year-old, myself and a baby had to sit on a bench that mustâve been designed for only two people. These benches are fixed to the floor (again, I have no idea what the designer was on) so we werenât even allowed to make space to put the buggy next to us to put the baby in and we had to hold him. The staff were as accommodating as they could be in the circumstances. I canât imagine what it must be like working in that atmosphere and I imagine their tips suffer on busy days because I certainly begrudged leaving more money than necessary for an unpleasant experience. I get that Wagamama is more fast-food and less fancy-sit-down-meal, but this was really appalling. The irony is that theyâve spent money trying to make it look more upmarket but the outcome has been that it now sounds like a school canteen on steroids. The food was tasty as always, but we definitely will not be back to this branch unless the mall is completely dead because of how unpleasant the noise was. And Rosaâs Thai has lovely food at similar prices just a few restaurants away. Excuse me while I go and lie down in a quiet corner. hi there, we are sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your experience with us. we'd like to take a look into this, would you mind leaving some further details here - https://www.wagamama.com/contact-us to allow us to do so? thank you

The mixed sushi boxes we had were all quite tasty and fairly priced. As other reviewers have commented, the Wasabi surcharge for âeating inâ is a joke because this is a self-service and self-clear shopping centre food court which is used by multiple food outlets! Tried the green tea bubble shake, I like green tea but this shake tasted gross and I would suspect that itâs made from a cheap powered base. So, although Yo Sushi at Bluewater is a bit more expensive, weâll be going there on our next visit.
