Find out what Japanese restaurants to try in Bielefeld. Set on a pass between the northern and southern sections of the Teutoburg Forest, Bielefeld is home to about 325,000 people. Sparrenberg Castle, one of the main attractions, dates from the 13th century, as do the Altstädter Nicolaikirche (St. Nicholas' Church) and the Neustädter Marienkirche (St. Mary's Church). The city also figures prominently in the Bielefeld Conspiracy, a German internet joke that the town does not actually exist, but is rather an elaborate alien or government conspiracy.

I visited a friend in Bielefeld and she took me to this restaurant. I am a big sushi-lover and ate sushi already in many different places. The restaurant looks really nice inside, the furniture and the whole atmosphere remind of a traditional japanese restaurant, just a bit fancier. My friend and I, we both ate Sushi. The quantity and quality was good. The fish seemed to be fresh and also the texture of the sushi was great. It just seemed to me that they maybe used a bit to much rice-vinegar, which you could taste while eating the sushi. After the dinner, we both ate the green tea ice-cream and it was really delicious! :)While dining, I was drinking a Cocktail with Sake, it was really, really sweet, so I did not like it that much. But they have a big menu and lot of different tea, cocktails and other drinks, so that it can be fun trying all of these out ;)If I am in Bielefeld again, I would visit the place for a second time. Compared to the prices in Luxembourg, the sushi here was not expensive with around ( if I remind it correctly) 13-25 euro. The service was good ! She was very friendly and helpful.

We ate here on a busy Saturday night and were even joined by the Arminia Bielefeld manager, so we had hoped for good things, however unfortunately the service was so poor, the food which was good, dod not make up for the poor customer service. For both starters and main, there were gaps of 10 minutes or so between 3 of the party of 6 being served. Given it was Japanese food we could not wait, and as the food was not overly temperature hot anyway, it meant I had finished my good starter before my wife had hers served! The same happened for the mains with the staff seeming to be oblivious to the issues they were causing! Maybe the staff were too focused on their VIP customer however it the delays for some of our party were unacceptable and spoilt our evening. Our party were generally pleased with the flavours of the food, however my main of a thick soup did not match my beef starter. We will not return as part of a group again, but might return as a couple to give the staff a second chance!
