We visited Ril’s when it first opened and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This was our first return to St. Omer since and we decided to book a table in advance. Just as well that we reserved a table because it was very busy and people were getting turned away.Despite how busy it was the service was of a high standard, very attentative and efficient. We started with a sharing seafood plate with toasts and it was an excellent choice. Followed by spare ribs which were excellent and my wife had a beautifully cooked steak which was very tasty and tender. No room for a dessert but the choice looked excellent and people on nearby tables certainly seemed to enjoy what they received!Very nice wine, good quality and very good value. Whenever we return to St.Omer this will be our first choice for an evening meal and booking in advance is highly recommended to avoid being turned away.Thank you so much for your very nice review peterhampton! what a pleasure to read such positive comments about our food, service and prices! We really enjoy having nice and friendly customers like you and hope to welcome you again very soon ! have a fantastic week!

This restaurant is one of the worst ever. Over stuffed with nasty decor, the food is even worse. There is no pizza oven for the 15 or more pizzas they offer, just awful. The pasta had vegetables out of a jar, marinated in vinegar. So bad we couldn’t eat it. Over cooked pasta, teenagers serving the food with no smile or charm . The kitchen is full of kids as well. If you love mushy pasta with tons of cream , this is your place. The lack of service and care says, they don’t hive a hoot what you think. Eat it and shut up. Save your money, save your time. The owner needs to take down fifty or more dust collectors and get a chef.

Turned up here on spec on a Saturday evening and were made very welcome. Plenty of French people eating here both as couples and larger parties. The menu is available in English if needed. Shortly after starting our aperitifs, we were asked most apologetically if we would mind moving tables to accommodate a larger party which we were quite happy to do. As a thank you, we were immediately brought a second aperitif on the house. The food was good if not spectacular with two or three options for vegetarians. I had the four cheese pasta which was very tasty. Portions are generous. The house wine is excellent value and of good quality. The waiting staff are extremely friendly and helpful with any questions about the dishes on offer. All in all a most convivial experience.
