Staying in Rugely for 1 night and looked the reviews for somewhere to eat and all of us agreed this was the place and we were not disappointed.Dough balls, garlic bread and coated olives were all starters that we devoured.Pizza, Carbonara and meat balls for main s and was again finished by all. Family run restaurant with a great friendly team that are a credit. This is the only place that would rival our regular Italian at home.

We have eaten at the Plum Pudding for many years always with excellent food and service. However, since Guiseppe has retired, this restaurant has been going downhill. On our LAST visit, we were shown to a table and the waitress then decided to serve the group that arrived five minutes after us. Before we had even ordered our drinks or food the waitress listed off a lot of the menu items we have enjoyed previously that were not available due to mis management; her words. Then to be told we would have to have chips instead of sautéed potatoes. The reason was that they were busy during the previous evening and they had not re-stocked. I said that this was a pathetic excuse and we left without having either food or drink. The new team seem to be ruining the reputation and and ambience of The Plum Pudding.
