A good restaurant in a rather restaurant-starved area in rural Illinois.
Difficult reviewing an Italian restaurant outside of a major city and be fair. The service was average, the food was mediocre, and the restaurant aroma had some "oldness" to it-like wet wood mixed with garlic. The place was "cute" but weathered. I did enjoy the eggplant which was substantial and pleasant but lacked the "original" Italian taste we were used to in the city. Drinks were ok and budgeted?

Growing up in Oregon, our kids canât come home without having Alfanoâs pizza, which is fine with me. Alfanoâs has always been known for their yummy pizza with lots of cheese. (Growing up here, people always joked about being âhookedâ on their pizza) This trip our daughter tried their cauliflower crust pizza which was really quite good, thin and very crisp. They have the best pizza in town!

Father & Son Pizzeria features an extensive menu of Italian and American favorites, including po boys, pasta, and our famous pizza. We feature a full appetizer menu, bar, & offer convenient catering services.
Our group ordered a couple of sausage pizzas and side salads. The side salads are a good size - covered with lots of veggies. Nice selection of dressings available. The pizza was delicious - thinner crust, chunk sausage and fresh cheese. Decent selection of beers available. Prices reasonable. The venue is attached to a liquor store and is a small hole in the wall. A handful of tables available for sit down. Service was friendly but slow. It appeared as if only one person working and he was getting swamped. He did a nice job remembering our groups individual orders (drinks, salads, dressings, etc.). I would eat here again.
