Green Goat is the lunch restaurant venture of the owners of two other restaurants on the same block. There is a sit-down place, a burger place and this is a small place--8 or 9 tables--which offers freshly made soups salads and sandwiches from 11:30AM-3 PM every day. I had come with owner of a local yoga studio. The preparation is very good and the choices are interesting. I had a greens gumbo made from a spicy Louisiana roux base with several different types of greens incorporated into it. A very good vegetarian effort. I also had a sandwich with hummus, avocado, feta, and several other ingredients and it also was delicious. There were several interesting salads on offer including one with roasted vegetables, a potato salad, a house made cole slaw and a number of others. Ingredients are all fresh and made each day. There are several vegetarian choices, which is not always the case in small town restaurants. The service was friendly. They seem to know everyone in town. And the place was busy as long as we were there, whether people were eating lunch there or buying something to go. When I am back in this area I would definitely go back.

I had looked this place up on Tripadvisor and was in Lake Zurich for one night with my 22 year old son, to watch him compete in a spartan race in Richmond - north of here. This was an outstanding dinner in a comfortable dar wood setting, you can probably tell by the number of pictures I attached. We were a little early for our reservation but were seated right away @ 6 pm. By the time we left it had filled up, being a Friday night. For the two of us we shared two appetizers:- Fresh Morels sauteed with creme, cheese, and prosciuto - delicious (Picture attached);- Dry Scallop Civeche with Poblano sauce -also delicious (Picture attached)For our entrees we had:- Chicken Cordon Bleau -very good (picture also attached);- Braised rabbit legs over pasta - excellent (picture attached), I added a second leg to the base menu choice; We splurged and had two desserts:- a Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp with ice cream very good (see picture);- a Dark Chocolate Truffle cake with drabs of mango and raspberry sauce all around fantastic ( picture attached).I liked the bar area with the cool cone shaped glass lights hanging from the ceiling so took two pictures from different angles attached.

The food is pricey, but that's because it's good. You can find great sandwiches for a little less as well. There are always great specials and wine specials and the servers know their stuff well. I'm a big fan!
