Located near the Place centrale, Martigny
This restaurant opened last year (2010). It has a very intersting menu - mostly as the name indicates fish and meat. The cuisine is very creative and the chef uses very fresh ingredients. If he doesn't have something fresh he doesn't serve it! Prices are reasonable and the staff are delightful! Tables are well spaced and there is a nice little garden for outside dining in the summer. the location right next to the UBS on the Place Centrale is perfect.Their fricassé of gambas is great - shrimp are already peeled and the sauce is very tasty. The "Boulliabase du Chef" is lovely - again, very fresh fish and you can taste each different fish instead of having them swamped by the taste of the sauce. There is a plat du jour each day at lunchtime.Average cost of a meal for us, including 3 courses and 50cl of open wine was around 130frs for two. However it wasn't really necessary to have the dessert!! But my husband said the Tarte Tatin was the best he ever ate!

La Nonna, my favorite restaurant în Martigny,no doubt about it where the athmosphere feels like în one of the restaurants în The centre of italy. How much i miss italy.... We had Lunch At la Nonna about 4 Times and service was good, food was delicios and the place looks great, plus the smell reminded me one more Time of the restaurants în Napoli, Sicilia or beautiful Cosenza. Especially Cosenza, where the interior of restaurants looks kind of the same and where i got to meet the most friendly service. I ll end my comment here, not before fading away and adding a song, an italian song:Jovanotti: tutto l amore Che ho.

In these tough times, I think restaurants should have a look at the uk, because over here though people may think our food is poor, its not strictly true, you can get any type of food in the u.k in a decent restaurant for between 20 to 50% cheaper than I was paying in switzerland and france, this was such a nice restaurant , the setting the decor first class, the food though not large portions was very tasty i had the roesti poulet with couple of drinks almost 60 euros, now that may be the normal price and people pay it, but almost all the restaurants i visited were very quiet, ,
