Local telephone is 622.132.2643. It's open for lunch and dinner. It's on the main highway into San Carlos.
On the main road from Guaymas to San Carlos, La Conquista is one of the first places you see on the right, near KM 8 on the road. The first time through, I thought it was like a roadside stand. Checking in-town revealed that the place was a little more upscale, so I tried it early one evening. It is much better. The menu is fairly upscale, with meals from 100-300 pesos ($8-25 USD). That's high for San Carlos. Fortunately, the quality of the food is also good. I had duck two ways, which I took a picture of. It was good, primarily based on the sauce, though not fully imaginative. It could be more subtle. Extra little bonuses were a small appetizer, and very small dessert cake with great mango sauce. There was a full wine and liquor selection, but I don't drink. One problem is the location - besides being relatively far from the main town of San Carlos, road noise was noticeable. Overall, though, La Conquista is a fine choice for upscale dining.

This fabulous restaurant is located in San Carlos right on the main drag. Surprised it isn't already listed. It's a favorite spot.
Itâs pretty average food. Some better than others. Prices are fairly steep. Cilantro soup was excellent. Raspberry chicken was mediocre. Prime rib was tough. After dinner drink delicious. Friendly staff. I would go back, but only if someone else was wanting to go there. Wouldnât be my first choice.

Last year this restaurant was our top pick. This year - not so much.Don't get me wrong. The staff is a delight and the music is great. But the prime rib was undercooked.A second visit found us ordering hamburgers. This time my burger was overcooked.Third time - well the fettucine was delicious. And a fourth visit for Sunday breakfast was very nice.So it was a mixed bag for us. We'll keep trying because we like the staff and atmosphere.
