Large restaurant inside and also nice tables out on the patio. Happy hour before 6:00 with great drink and appetizer prices. Hummus was the BEST. Salads were also super. Great family atmosphere.

Johnny's Bar

Despite making reservations 6 weeks in advance, we were seated in the doorway across from the bar. Everyone entering and leaving had to walk against us. When asked to change, we were told nothing was available, yet we saw people going in and out of other rooms and spaces. The atmosphere is that of an old traditional wood paneled bar/steak house. The neighbourhood is not great and lengthy construction on the road outside do not make it an easy find. There is valet parking. Some of our food was very good, some not so . We shared appetisers. The calamari was good, but not special. The frog legs were few in number and a bit tough. The small portions of the appetizers made it difficult to share. My friend had the Italian Feast (seafood over linguine) which she loved and took half of it home. Our husbands both ordered the veal parm which came pounded very thin and burned. They were not happy with their meal. I had the veal medallions special which I quite enjoyed. Lesson - stay away from the veal parm!. Our server was knowledgeable, trying very hard to be helpful. The place was very busy, however , and we did not see much of him. We forgot to use the gift card we received at Christmas, so will need to return. I am hoping for better experience.

We loved this authentic little place. We ordered way too much food, but loved everything, especially the pupusas. It is a great value and everyone there was so friendly. A student of mine whose family is Salvadoran recommended it. Everyone i have told about it has loved it as well. Don't go there for fancy decor or anything like that. Go there for excellent food, value, and authentic ambiance and food. Great place.
