The Villa Lina is mainly a venue that you can rent for an event such as a wedding or party. However it also has some events that they organise themselves, such as live music nights when a superb meal is also offered. I have now been to two of these and both were great. The meals and wines were excellent and the music and atmosphere were equally good. You need to book in advance for these events. They are advertised on the Villa Lina website and many are already selling out, so if you are in the area its worth checking to see if one is coming up. These events are in the "more formal dining" category, whereas the next two that they offer would be in the "casual, sit-down service" category. They also have some occasional meals that anyone can turn up for. I went to one recently which involved a barbeque and home smoked meat, where the cooking was done outdoors in the grounds and guests could either sit indoors or outside. And I also visited their stall at the BahnFest in Bad Heerenalb. Every time the food has been excellent and good value, and the service friendly and welcoming. This place is a fantastic recent addition to Bad Herrenalb and looks set to be a huge success.

Decades ago when we first visited the Burg Liebenzell in the Black Forest, I was offered some cake and I asked for Black Forest gâteau. The Swabians were, I think amazed and claimed no knowledge. I was surprised and not a little sceptical. Nowadays this speciality is widely known and what better place to savour it than in the eponymous Black Forest. The best Schwarzwalder Kirschtorte (literally BlackForest cherry-torte) that I have tasted in years was served at The Cafe am Bad in Bad Wildbad, Baden-Wurttemberg. It is not for the faint-hearted, or slimmers or tea-totallers as the Cherry Liqueur was prominent, the flakes of Chocolate delicious, the cherries near-inebriated and the Cream indulgent, all as it should be.The Coffee and the wines were fine tooI believe the Cafe owner is off somewhere in Spain and has rented the business out, the new proprietor I think is doing well.We visited Sunday 29th October, late afternoon

Very good local trout, served hot and well-prepared. Wine only so-so. Service very pleasant, served me outdoors even though it was raining. To look at, not very appealing but in fact one of the best restaurants in Bad Wildbad.Vielen Dank für ihre Bewertung.
