There's plenty of restaurants around that, instead of cooking some solid comfort food, try to be the next creative scoop of the year. Didier Galet is one of them. The decor / interior is OK - I did not particularly like the chairs and the wooden boards for bread and salt which, in my view, are not in line with the modernist image the chef wants of this establishment. Service is fine if a tad too little formal and a little hiccup I had at the beginning. The food has been a run downhill. The first course of scallops with truffle was as surprising as the matching might sound unusual, and it was actually very good. Then a fois gras came which had little identity and then a deer in a wine sauce which made no sense to me. The meat was not of good quality and the sauce was worse. The dessert was made of a rose sorbet - good idea - with some unidentifiable roll beside. Not really memorable.

Carte variée et changée toutes les semaines, le chef est présent pour vous servir. Très sympa, je lui souhaite de réussir sa conversion dans ce domaine. Bravo à lui.

Let's start with the name of this place. It's a kind of untranslatable pun about pumpkins and buddies. You definitively have to speak French to get the best of it!This place is very engaging and ideally situated near the bridge and has a beautiful terrace with view to the river Ourthe. The eating room decor is fresh, modern and discreet with a fireplace at the center on which meats are grilled. The staff is very friendly and will gladly help you with advices and recommendations to make the best of your dining experience. I had marvellous herbal chicken skewers marinated in sirop de Liege which is a kind of a thick dark jelly like syrup made from apples and pears served with a side bowl of Herve which is cheese with a big aroma and a silky buttery texture. My guest opted for a char grilled marinated Irish Lamb skewer. They also serve Argentinian beef. All in all a delicious food experience.
