Never been to a Vietnamese restaurant, but this buffet restaurant offers lovely Vietnamese dishes, specialities from the grill and great service aswell. At first I thought it was an a la carte restaurant with typical Vietnamese food, but it wasn't like that. It's an all you can eat concept so don't expect Michelin standard quality, but the flavors are good.

Even though Holland is crowded with "eastern" eateries It's not easy to find a good Indonesian restaurant as most are Chinese/Cantonese. Friends recommended Istana Bali on the outskirts of Apeldoorn, and we were sufficiently impressed to return a week later. The decor is pleasant without an excess of indo-kitsch, the waitresses are courteous and friendly, and the food is excellent. We chose their "rijsttafel" which is in fact a dutch-colonial invention in which you combine your rice with a variety of goodies: in our case 24! For spice lovers: their sambal oelek is so good we guess it's homemade. Take beer to extinguish the fire.Obviously a rijsttafel is not fast food: you need time to enjoy it. Try their buffet if you're in a hurry: excellent value for money.
