Being a regular visitor to Gothenburg, I've always seen Dawaat but always gave it a miss. My logic being, if British restaurants struggle to produce authentic Indian food, then Swedish restaurants have no chance.I spontaneously decided to go one day and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is actually owned by an Indian family (which is a rarity, even in the UK). Mr. Singh and his son were very welcoming and were even as so kind to tell me how they arrived in Sweden from India many years ago! I ordered a palak paneer, rice, roti and mango lassi. The curry was very homely and the portion size was just right. Ambience in the restaurant was very relaxed too. I will definitely be back to try some more of their vegetarian dishes.
