Reviews on Indian food in Castries, Castries Quarter, Caribbean. The bustling port city of Castries is St. Lucia's capital. Shoppers flock to the city's dozens of stores and to Castries Market for fruits, vegetables and handicrafts. Sightseers admire murals painted by a local artist inside Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, and relax in Derek Walcott Square, named for the St. Lucian Nobel-prize-winning poet. Atop Morne Fortune (Hill of Good Luck) - where the French and English battled over control of the island - visitors take in panoramic vistas.

A really good Indian in St Lucia? Weird? Unlikely, you might think. However, it gets top billing on Trip Advisor because it regularly produces quality food. We had two visits there - probably should have been more!Rather than the menu going through every level of heat from Korma upwards we were asked what level of heat and spiciness we were comfortable with. The meals were delivered in what we all thought were accurate levels of heat. One of the party Mild, two Medium and one Medium Hot. Portions were generous and quality high.Don't be surprised that in low season they might close by 10pm if empty by then. We could see them from our apartment balcony which was on a level with theirs. Also, they are closed Mondays at this time of year. If you are in the area - visit.Dear guest, Many thanks for your flattering feedback. We value everything you said about us and feel proud of our efforts. It is definitely not weird to have any cuisine in any part of the world. Passionate chefs, great team, amazing location, clean and comfortable ambiance---that's all it takes. I am pleased to know that our team delivered all of the elements. Hope to see you and your recommendations soon.Best regards,Chef Adil,Masala Bay (2015) andSpice of India (2010)

We were taken to this restaurant by our friend who had been living in Rodney Bay and we can see why this was his favourite restaurant! The welcome was lovely, the ambience is very relaxing and we were sat in the outdoor area under a canopy on a lovely August evening. The food is great quality, everything was freshly made, and served with a great smile by the awesome staff. I would wholeheartedly recommend this fantastic restaurant if you like a good curry :-)Dear AngloItalian,We would like to thank your friend who brought you to us and good to know that you also enjoyed your experience with us too. We also appreciate your recommendation for SOI.Hope to see you again soon.Best regards,Chef Adil,Spice of India (2010) andMasala Bay (2015)

As for all the restaurants in this area I think for an Indian meal it is expensive, even in Happy HourFood tastes are nice but again nothing special to warrant the priceWonât be coming back as feel as a tourist weâre being ripped off Thanks for taking time to give us your views! All food is expensive in St Lucia! There is no avoiding this fact! You need lots of money to eat well on island!Do your research....find a cheaper destination....but you may well forfeit many lovely aspects of St. Lucia that you will find nowhere else!
