Jewel of India

We weren't all that hungry, having eaten a huge lunch, so we did a slimmed down version of one of our favorite meals from Jewel: an order each of their delicious Mulligatawny soup and a split order if their Palak Chat (crispy spinach). This place always comes through!

Amber Spice

I usually turn my nose up at the local Indian lunch buffets because they have so few and so unimaginative food options. The weekend buffet at Amber Spice totally exceeded my expectations, with a much wider variety of dishes, each of which was well prepared. There were plenty of breads, raita, chutney, etc. to accompany a wide array of vegetarian and meat dishes. Service was also first rate: we were quickly seated and waiters stopped by periodically to refresh our drinks, take away plates, inquire about dessert, and settle our bill. The restaurant is no secret: there were lots of other people stopping by for lunch, including many Indians, which is always a positive indicator of good food. The price point was very fair, given the high quality of the food and the fact that it is all you can eat.
