Great poke - good options and good service. I'm from the East Coast so poke is not as big a deal there...yet. But it should be. These guys make it fresh and reasonably priced. Big avocado chucks, cucumber, you can pile on the works.

Aloha Grill

My in-laws are from Hawaii, so we thought we'd take them to the Aloha Grill to get a taste of the islands. We'd never tried this place before, but it was highly recommended by a friend. We went on a Saturday evening, so parking was easy and the place wasn't very crowded. It looks like you could sit outside and eat in warmer weather, but you'd only have a view of the parking lot and traffic. There is a good variety of items on the menu, plus specials not on the menu. The location is in a strip mall, so nothing special there, but the inside is well-lit and decorated with island memorabilia. The food was quite good. I had the Aloha Kalbi Ribs which were very tender and juicy, and my wife had Aloha Teri Beef & Kalua Pork, both of which were quite tasty. My father-in-law had the Waikiki Mix (hamburger steak with gravy, chicken katsu and teri chicken), all of which he really enjoyed. The macaroni salad was good (could maybe use a bit more salt and pepper), and the veggies were decent (not over-cooked as one often finds in a place like this). The staff were friendly and helpful, and our entrees were served quickly. The bathroom was clean. Overall, we enjoyed the food and we'll be back to try some of the other dishes.

L & L Hawaiian Barbeque

I wanted a fast lunch and decided to give Hawaiian BBQ a try. It’s definitely fast food; located in a strip mall and, with the low-end furniture, is better suited for take out. Service was fast and the counter staff was very pleasant and displayed a genuine interest in answering questions. I had the BBQ mix. The beef, pork and chicken portions were all small but still adequately sized for lunch. The order came in a Styrofoam box with a plastic knife and fork which made cutting the meat a little difficult. Everything had been cooked in their BBQ/Teriyaki style sauce, which made it hard to tell the beef from the pork. While the meal met my needs, the restaurant does not merit a return visit.
