We went for Sunday lunch. We ordered the foccaccia as starter to share. It was delivered to our table quick sharp and was scrumptious. My husband ordered the full Mozambique chicken, and he enjoyed it thoroughly. I ordered the Chicken Gordon (as indicated on their menu) Bleu (which should have given me a hint, that if you can't spell it, you can't make it). It looked very inviting, but, the crumb coating was so salty, the ham was either cheap sandwich ham or tinned ham with cheddar cheese. Now, i am used to having a smokey ham and mozarella cheese oozing out when you cut a cordon bleu, but this was a disappointment. So if you go there, keep to hamburgers, chicken and pizzas - it will be worth your money. O, and don't be in a hurry - we waited over an hour for the main meal.

Earlier this year we were all saddened by the news that one of Zululandâs oldest restaurants, Porkeyâs at the Waterfront is closing. However, owners Donald and Dalene Bruins-lich are back with a big bang inside the secure Mzingazi Golf Estate with âPorkeyâs at The Lakeâ.We have visited a couple of times, and every time we were very happy with our food and service. The restaurant is located on the shores of Lake Mzingazi, and the view is stunning, especially at sunset. They also have a lovely play area for families with young children. The security of the Estate makes you feel very safe when walking around outside the restaurant and in the car park.Last Friday we went went again for lunch with two other couples. We could not fault the service, and the food met our expectations. We also saw a couple of impalas walking around, feeding on the golf course.I can highly recommend this restaurant, not only for good food and service, but also for enjoying a meal overlooking the lake in a secure environment.
