If you are to be a top rated restaurant and charging $32 for a small Ribeye, expectation are not top rated steak house but better than TGI Fridayâs! Wow! Total disappointment for 4th visit. Mediocre steak, service lackluster at best and manager more interested in his âShirley Temple.âSlowly declining and not even close to quality.

Newby in the "Landing", Bates Bar & Grill looks to be a pleasant addition to the burgeoning development in this potential "gold mine" of a location.Located within a short walk from the Weymouth commuter rail station and easily accessible from Rt. 3 with multiple newly opened surrounding apartments abounding, any really good eating establishment in this location is bound to succeed and flourish. We visited on this balmy February night that even allowed their lovely sidewalk-side windows to be open to the spring-like air. Our wait person, Chelsea, granted us ample time to explore the menu while bringing our drink order promptly. We tried the coconut shrimp. onion rings, sweet & spicy chicken and steak tips in our party of 3. All of the food was delivered within a reasonable l amount of time considering the place was packed and was well prepared, if a bit pre-processed (as in the chicken & shrimp) but overall, everything was tasty. For a newly opened restaurant, they seem to have worked out most of the kinks that most places suffer from in their opening weeks. Service was friendly and prompt. Food was fresh and well prepared. Definitely a place in the neighborhood and I'm so glad it's mine!
