I like choosing restaurants based on location (close to hotel) and Tripadvisor reviews. Because of Labour Day weekend, a lot of restaurants in Toronto were closed, which forced me to look at a larger area around our hotel. This one got decent reviews, but did mean we had to take a taxi. Some Canadian friends decided to join us, and contacted the place to change the booking.They did not need to have bothered, as it was almost empty. It does not look great - it's a dingy pub without much atmosphere. It will probably look and feel better if it is full of people.The service was fine. The food wasn't. At least it was cheap. And there was nothing wrong with the beers. Altogether, this might be a good place for some drinks, if it a bit busier. But I would give the food a miss. I have no idea why so many of the reviews are so positive about the food, because this was not our experience.

Sat at the bar with Bryan, who was awesome and recommended several delicious beers . The poutine was so delicious Loved the atmosphere and would definitely go back!!

Nice place, lots of atmosphere, good service and excellent food. I had the falafel on naan and this was very flavorful. Fish and chips looked really good too and I have high expectations for F&C as lived in England 3years
