We decided to have our 25th Anniversary party at the Dovecote after another venue let us down. This turn out to be the best decision we could have made.Tom the manager/owner was very accommodating, efficient and professional right from the start, talking us through different food and drink options and listening to our preferences. Our guests were very happy with the service and the attentiveness of all the staff at our party. The atmosphere was great and everyone enjoyed the lovely buffet, including our gluten free guest. We supplied decorations that were put up by Tom and the team and our own playlist that was played through the speakers outside at the venue, this really personalised our party for us.Thank you to Tom and the team for making our party very special.

Cams Mill is a recreation of the original tidal mill that stood on the same site nearly 100 years ago. With a large oak framed barn and beautiful views of the estuary, this is the perfect place to enjoy a pint and indulge in some delicious food. With a la
Booked ahead and we were very pleased with our table with a nice view across the water. My wife ordered linguine with a side salad and asked that the side salad come without onions. The side salad was duly delivered with onions. The linguine itself was very nice.I had the dhal which was ok but the accompanying 'bhajis' had obviously been reheated in fat and had a burnt acrid taste. Kept repeating on me for the rest of the day - horrible.I did complain when asked by the waitress but it was one of those 'is everything ok' questions as she looked blankly past us.Decided to have desserts, in truth to try and take away the taste of the main. Tried to order from the menu on the table only to be told that I had to use another menu? Just to compound things, there was a great sounding dessert of the special board that we weren't mad aware of.Lovely building and setting. Need to get their act together though.

An exciting refurbishment is currently underway at Parson's Collar and we'll be reopening on Monday 5th June- it'll be worth the wait! Surrounded by mature woods, and nestled next to the Solent Hotel, the Parson's Collar is a traditional family friendly p
Staying at the hotel (The Lodge at Solent)for my sons 2nd birthday trip to Paultons Park, booked a table for dinner for 7 people all booked fine- thatâs where the good part stops!!!There was over an hours wait between starters and mains, although 2 of the parties food came up 50 minutes before the rest! Waitress offers a free round of drinks- fine accepted. But then food takes even longer- all very difficult with a two year old. When food arrives itâs cold, dry and just poor all round. I actually sent my jacket potato with cheese back as it lacked cheese and was freezing cold (the cheese wasnât even melting). They produced a new one 20minutes later......equally bad. Ended up eating in 3 shifts! The waiting staff are young and very lovely an actual credit to the place, I felt sorry for them having to deal with the issues.I spoke to the general manager and outlined the concerns, I also advised other customers of our experience as they asked at the bar. The manager in the end refunded our meal which was the least he could do. Worst experience in a long time and to make it worse the manager was not willing to see what was the issue! Very arrogant. As I said I feel sorry for the staff not their fault. We werenât the only ones complaining others were too. Sadly the reviews are all true. Hotel is lovely but wonât come back because of the service at the restaurant. Spoiled a birthday weekend away- avoid.
