Visiting in the area and was looking for somewhere to eat, searched Trip Advisor for recommendations and came across this place. They don't do food during the week. The place is an absolute dive, old fashioned, mismatched furniture, no atmosphere. There was only one other couple in there. We left after one drink, felt really uncomfortable.

Tonight my friends and I had the most delicious dinner at The PackHorse in Hayfield. Attentive staff, delicious wine selection and truly amazing food. We all had scallops to start followed by the beef and smoked chips- all cooked to perfection. The peppercorn sauce was incredible! Canât recommend this place enough, we are so lucky to have such a gastronomic delight here in Hayfield. Great pub ambience with city quality restaurant food- the best of both worlds. Thank you for a great evening.

Mid week lunch outing. Thought we would try again after a few disappointing visits in previous years. Pleased to say welcome was very friendly and helpful. Food was very good especially chips all cooked well and not fries from frozen packet.Fish finger sandwich I had was made to order and fish lovely.Coffee was very good I had Robinsonâs Blonde beer , could have been a bit cooler, perhaps due to being mid week lunch period and not much through put.Will visit again much improved.
