Dining at iX Pour Bistro is an exceptionally rewarding experience in every single way. Itâs immediately apparent as one approaches this tiny, quirky restaurant that youâre in for a different, but entirely delightful, evening. The bistroâs exterior is plain in a quiet neighborhood. The dark, simple, but pleasing interior will not satisfy some traditionalists searching for grand surroundings to accompany their grand meals. But the genuine warmth of Lawrenceâs ready welcome, the intimacy of the small room and the superbly gifted talents of chef/proprietor Benoitâs masterful cooking will soon salve any concerns. Here, the emphasis is rightly on the food and the connection of this bistroâs only two staff to their guests. And the food and the connection exceed all expectations. Lawrence, who oversees the front, spends generous time faithfully describing every element of the wine and spirit list and the menu items on offer. Benoit quietly executes each dish to perfection! The wine list is comprehensive and selected to pair well with the relatively few menu selections. Lawrenceâs personal playlist of legendary soft rock anthems quietly accompanies every course. The combination of all is very special and the entire room seems transported to an elevated place of culinary bliss. Every diner, most all casually dressed, appears captivated by the moment and without a care in their world. THIS is fine dining at its very best...a tour de force of food, wine and companionship. What a really pleasant experience! Be sure to have one of your party try Benoitâs motherâs recipe of onion soup, and do not miss his signature dessert using shaved frozen foie gras atop a delicious concoction of bread, cream and brown sugar...unbelievably good. Are you listening Michelin??

Earlier this week, myself along with family and friends had dinner at Les Sales Gosses. It was our first time at this restaurant (for some of us) and we all enjoyed it!General Atmosphere: The general atmosphere is quite good. Although the restaurant is somewhat noisy, we had no problem hearing each other talk. The service is quite good with waiters and waitresses that know their menu and that are quite polite and nice. One suggestion though: reserve your table in advance especially if you are coming to eat with 4 or more people, because even though the restaurant doesn't have much trouble accomodating a group of people (we were 7), the space is not very big and tables can book pretty quickly. Food & Pricing:As a starter, I had cod that was covered with panko breading in a pesto sauce. Although it was pretty good, I thought the panko breading and pesto sauce may have been a bit too much as it took off most of the cod's flavor. As my main dish, I had a piece of beef that was extremely good! A part of it was even covered in sour creme (it looked to me like cheese at first). It was accompanied by a medium sized portion of fries that were good but a bit too salty for me.For dessert, I had a creme Brulee, which was raspberry and strawberry flavoured. It was rather refreshing considering this time of year! The prices were quite high but considering everything we got, it was well worth it!To finish off, I definetly recommend this restaurant to people who like an original culinary experience!

The service was superb starting with the welcoming champaign and ending with a special anniversary treat at the end. We opted for the 5-course chef option . Each plate was unique and very well prepared. Each was paired wuth a different wine of their choosing. Could not have been better.
