Neighbourhood Cafe with dream and passion
I would not normally have a western style menu when travelling in another country, but this was a great place to stop and have a wonderful coffee with a light lunch. When I read: croissant with chicken, ham and fresh salad I just couldn't resist. The coffee rounded off the total experience. These guys have only been operating for a few months but the food is fresh and thoughtful. Located away from the hassle of the main street of Tanah Rata,it was worthy of the walk to their establishment on Christmas day.
Top 10 Malaysian food in Cameron Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia
The proprietors have created a memorable location that is affordable. A mere 3 km from Tanah Rata - the place is perched on the edge of a slope by the main road and overlooks the tea plantation (its valley). Restaurant is well thought out and the experience of having your tea with a fantastic view is a high point of a visit to Camerons (Sadly, the encroaching plastic sheeting of the local farmers have begun to smear the backdrop. The rest of Camerons is besieged by these plastics and is an eyesore - and this place would be a respite).Th food offered s above average and the price is not astronomical (guess it is fair to pay for the view). A serving of scones and tea will set you back for under US$3.00. (The downside is the staff can be quite impersonal at times; and won't go out of their way to serve).Parking is ample.Should be on the list of things to do in Camerons.
Rustic place serving local residents. Place is non-airconditioned and old-fashioned.Restaurant is quite old but the food is good. Its a shop house turned restaurant, Location of the restaurant is off the main road so its not so easy to find the restaurant. Its opposite a local Chinese primary school. The menu serves local tastes such as lork legs, steam fish, pork ribs, prawns, local vegetables and much more. The owner usually recommends menu of the day. The prices are very reasonable but you would need to put up with the "rusticness" of the restaurant... but all in all my experience there was quite ok.Happy eating
