I visited with my daughter and grandaughter, the food was very good and plenty of it . Although we thought children were catered for , there was nothing particularly for children , so we fed the little one from our plates .

The first time I visited Aix a fee years ago, I had lunch in one of the generic bistros that litter the town squares. The food was generic, unremarkable and overpriced. This time around, I wanted to surprise my mother for her birthday, so made sure to do some research before hand. Gambetta had great reviews, so I decided to book and I'm glad I did. While the restaurant isn't located in a scenic town square, the food and the service are top notch. Gambetta is owned and run by a lovely couple, with the husband in the kitchen and the wife at front of house. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. The 3 dish menu was excellent value and we all happily ate all our courses. The hostess was very friendly and insisted on giving my mother free coffee and ice cream when she found out it was her birthday. We all had an excellent experience and will definitely be returning on our next trip to Aix.

Service was good. Terrace okay. Food, just barely average. I like good food, I know good food. This was average. But it would definitely beat a terrible fast food creperie or some such tourist nonsense. To be fair, we only had three dishes - I cannot speak for the rest of the menu.
