Ashten's is a downtown Southern Pines institution. For over 21 years we have been sourcing and serving local ingredients that best tell the story of our area.
The service and atmosphere were nice but the food was nothing special. We had the squash blossom for appetizer and it just tasted like fried crust. I think there was supposed to be goat cheese in it? I had the cashew crusted chicken with risotto. The risotto was not good and green. The chicken was nothing special. Very disappointing meal for $60. Dear tmiller461,I'm so sorry that you did not enjoy your dinner at Ashten's. We work very hard to please all of our customers and I'm very disappointed that you were unhappy with your meal. We are known for our fresh, local and creative cuisine but I apologize that we fell short of your and our expectations. We would love to make it up to you if you would allow us to send you a gift certificate to dine with us again. Please contact us through our email, [email protected] and we will get one in the mail to you immediately. Thank you for taking the time to write your review and I hope you will allow us to change your mind about our food.Best,Ashley Van CampAshten's

Excellent cuisine in a metropolitan atmoshphere, in the heart of historic downtown Southern pines
We travelled to Southern Pines for lunch at Sweet Basil's which was closed for plumbing problem. Asked close shopkeeper for suggestion and tried Wolcott's. charming and cozy, attractive converted house area. Staff very lovely and helpful. Food very flavorful and freshly made. They let us sample from the menu and made fresh lemonade not on the menu. A really nice experience.

We came here for our anniversary and it was delicious. It was our first time at Chef Warrens. Our server was polite and did not hover over us. The food was great! My wife had the duck and I had one of the specials, ostrich and duck sausage. Definitely make reservations, they were full by 6:30 pm.
