This fine dining establishment is french cuisine done at its best. Although quite expensive, it is a place for special occasions for most folks. The atmosphere, the service and the food are all top shelf. When making a reservation be sure to be seated in the main dinning room! The first time we went was for our anniversary and they stuck us in a corridor. We strive every day to ensure our guests have a wonderful meal and a marvelous time at our restaurant and it is extremely encouraging for someone to tell us. Thank you again for your kind comments and patronage. We look forward to serving you again soon.

Another Saturday night with no plans so I went to Open Table to look for a well-reviewed restaurant that had an opening at 7:00 pm. The answer was Roia and it was excellent. The ambiance was interesting. Housed in the old Taft Hotel it gave off an Old New Haven vibe. We were seated immediately in a corner booth with a nice view of the whole restaurant. We ordered specialty cocktails and checked out the interesting selections on the menu. We were presented with a very interesting amuse bouche. I ordered the grilled, roasted and pickled beet appetizer and my lady ordered the Cured Arctic Char appetizer. They were both very well presented, outstanding and very, very tasty. An excellent bread and butter was brought to our table in a very nice basket. For entrees we both ordered pasta. Mine the Wild Boar Fettuccine and hers the Tajarin Cacio e Pepe. I do not like to repeat my praise, but they were both very well presented, outstanding and very, very tasty. Of course we both ordered dessert. I the Chocolate Panna Cota and her the Sweet Potato Pot de Crème. Again, they were fantastic. I'd be amiss if I forgot to mention the friendly, efficient and knowledgeable service.

We had both the choupette and smoked salmon savory crepes which were outstanding as well as a lemon dessert crepe. Excellent cappuccino. Highly recommend.
