Spent an overnight in Marlfield House and we ate in The Conservatory. The meal was delicious, with staff very friendly and attentive and knowledgeable about the provenance of each dish. The setting is lovely overlooking the stunning gardens. I would imagine at the height of the Irish Summer dinner followed by drinks on the lawn is the way to go! The restaurant is where breakfast is served and had one of the best plate of American pancakes with freshly squeezed orange juice. Was very impressed with all the food served in Marlfield so much so that i had to make a purchase of the home made berry jam on the way out so that i could bring Marlfield home with me!!
This restaurant ( also has accommodation) has only recently opened. It is situated in a lovely old house which has been brilliantly restored. We had pre-meal drinks in the drawing room and our meal in the old dining room - both magnificent settings. The dining room is small but plenty of room. The food was delicious. Service was excellent and friendly with appropriate time between each course. We were made to feel most welcome by the owners (one of whom is the chef) and the staff.
