Two for Brunch ... reservations recommended. Walking the main street and Simcoe Street arts area ... Cool vibe with an open kitchen and bar, and dining areas in a heritage building with art gallery/artist's studios on the second floor. Ambiance was perfect. Kind of a grey day so we started with mimosas, ordered one Smoked Trout Benedict and one Country Ham Benedict. one shared creme brule and espressos.

We were headed home after a day in Barrie and when we were coming into Collingwood, we decided to look for some fresh cut fries as we were getting hungry. We headed to a place we knew, but it was 5:45 p.m. and as we arrived, this establishment was just closing having put the chairs up on top of the tables and the kitchen had already closed. We had passed this food truck further back on Hume street, so we decided to go back and see if they offered fresh cut fries. Arriving at the G-Bay Gourmet food truck, there were several people enjoying their dinner at the picnic tables. Yes they have fresh cut fries. I decided to order a large and share it on the drive home. As we drove home, we both delved into the fries. We were amazed at how good these were, The proprietor had mentioned that he had just changed the oil, but that alone would not account for the excellent taste. These fries were perfectly cooked, being crispy on the outside and soft and tender on the outside, a light golden brown and with an amazing taste. So much so, that by the time we were entering Meaford, we wished we had purchased two large orders instead of sharing the one. We will definitely make a point of coming back to the G-Bay Gourmet food truck and try some of the other interesting items on the menu.
