Steeped in tradition and care EDWINS Restaurant offers seasonal, classic French cuisine in the midst of Cleveland's Shaker Square. The restaurant has a unique mission; to do good and eat well. The charming bar and lounge are a welcoming spot for before
Food was absolutely phenomenal and hands down the best burger I've ever had. Wife had grouper which was cooked to perfection and delicious. Staff was friendly and the restaurant was beautiful. The icing on the cake, however, was the owner, Brandon, checking on all the guests at the valet and since the workers were busy he went and got our car for us. He was helping with everything inside the restaurant throughout the night too and this is a perfect example of leading by example. Fantastic dining experience and would highly recommend.

I had the artichoke and arugula salad and loved them both. My other 7 companions had various dishes and each loved their dinners. We ate in the private wine room which was cozy. Our service was excellent. The outdoor patio is where we shared drinks and appetizers. Wow, what a place to sit outside! The olives, pizza and cheeses were perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant.

My advice to the chef: rework the menu. Consider that some of the current pairings do not work well together. My dinner was essentially inedilble due to fighting flavors. I tasted another dinner and found it lackluster. I do know that one member of our party loved her scallops and said she ranked them in the top 2 of all the times she had been served scallops. But that isn't enough to build an entree menu. The service is friendly but again, lackluster and inattentive. I asked for a substitution with my order and received both on my plate. (I admit, I forgot to see whether or not there was a charge.) The desserts were average. Again, attention to detail in flavor pairings would be helpful. One dessert, the souffle stood out as being excellent. The location is pleasant and there is parking in the rear although we did find street parking across the street. Sensitivity to the customer would be nice. The sun shone way too brightly and eventually, one member of our party, closed the drapes which did prompt an appearance of our waiter. But it had been obvious that we were uncomfortable for awhile and staff should have come to our assistance.I won't be returning unless there are serious adjustments to the menu despite liking the physical site. Please understand, one member of our party was my daughter who has spent time in Paris on a few occasions, having lived in Europe at one point. She couldn't identify anything particularly French about the menu nor in the preparation.
