Dating back to the 1930s, Libbys has stood near the Great Falls on McBride Avenue. Paterson's most famous and friendly diner. Whether it be tourists to the Falls, kids coming home from school, residents of the area, Libbys has offered some of the most delicious hot dogs, burgers, soups and more with tasty pride and reasonable price. Libbys is New Jersey, it is Paterson. It is wonderful!!!
Bottom Line: Decent subs but pricey.Details: I stopped by here on a Tuesday afternoon after hearing great things about it. I ordered the NY Steamer as it was one of the sandwiches that received praise. The restaurant was nice and clean and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately I was disappointed with my sandwich as the corned beef had a strange taste that I didn't care for. The bread was nice and soft and the pastrami was tasty but in the end, the portion size I received was definitely not worth the $9. I would go back and try something else if I was in the area but it wouldn't be my first choice.
The ravioli is delicious, but if you want a fresh sandwich, this is the place. The people who own the place are a delight! Don't miss out.
