(Worst was in Jasper, another beautiful destination.) Attractive little place, a few customers evidently enjoying their meals, pleasant waitress shucking oysters, grating horseradish -- looked promising. We each ordered a sandwich: one smoked salmon and one beef. Sounds simple, right? We waited about twenty minutes, during which time the staff were not run off their feet. At the last minute (perhaps catching sight of me waiting) they slapped some tough salmon into a cheap tough bun from the discard bin at the supermarket. The green "salad" they just dumped into the box beside the sandwich. Ditto with hubby's beef sandwich, although he had potato salad made of not quite cooked potatoes. No napkins! For this they charged more than double what we'd paid for two sandwiches at Tim Hortons the day before, where even the buns were pretty good.

Everything is expensive in Niagara-On-The-Lake.A meal can be as much or more than the theatre ticket. Hendrick's is a reasonable alternative - store made box lunches - sandwiches, salads, cheese & crackers and reasonably priced beverages. If it's a nice day there are several outside tables around the Festival Theatre at the East end of town. If you ask a question on this review bear in mind emailing & twittering are low on our priority list and a response may be delayed.
