We discovered peers place one Sunny afternoon and stoped for lunch. We had a truly pleasurable lunch. The staff was lovely Peer himself as quite the character and very pleasant you have to appreciate the effort goes into making fine food here in Belize, where there are so many mediocre places serving small portions with substandard ingredients. We had fantastic salads in I have rge portions and a beautiful tasty hit sandwich for lunch with lots nice ingredients, normally not found here. On another afternoon we stopped for coffee and it was equally enjoyable. European standards of food and service are rare here. It was a lovely respite from the beans and rice with stewed chicken or fish most places serve. I can see why some folks would not appreciate the effort it takes to produce a fine, well made meal a little more sophisticated than most places in town. But we liked it. It was not inexpesive but worth the extra few $s. The setting is next to town park near the beach with a nice breeze. Something many places in Hopkins do not have to offer.When you ar es tired of small uninteresting food give it a try.

Who would have thunk you could get authentic Italian in Belize, but that we did. After telling our Moorings sailing Captain Eggie that we would like some limoncello, he said only place he knew we could get it was a La Dolce Vita. After seeing TA reviews we asked him to make reservations for the night we ended our cruise. I've had many meals in Italy that couldn't match what Chef Simone and his team produced. The bruschetta and caprese starters were fresh and delightful. The spaghetti carbonaro included the most delightful smoky bacon, smoked on premise with the pasta perfectly done. My mate's hogfish was prepared to perfection as was the entrees for the rest of our party. We had several of the reasonably priced wines, with the sangiovese being the best. The only disappointment was the limoncella. Served a very small amount for a larger than normal price and my mate says she thinks she saw lime on the bottle, not lemon, which we prefer. But still deserves a five star review and a definite re-visit on our next trip to Placencia.

La Trattoria Romana is the only true Italian restaurant in Hopkins, we offer a variety of Italian dishes, from pasta to pizza with thin crost, to be accompanied with the typical wines

Wandered in looking for something a bit different in the Sittee Point vicinity. Enjoyed meeting the Italian owner and had a lovely server. My fiancé had the snapper while I had the special with Italian mushrooms and ravioli. We would agree that it was good but not one of our best meals.
