Returned for our Anniversary dinner after being gone from the area for 5 years. Small room and even though they were full, the noise level was not intrusive. Very creative menu, first night of the spring menu. Featured locally sourced and farmed vegetables. The freshness was evident with each bite. The menu is not large but is outstanding. Chef places his touch in an eclectic way with presentation and taste. My husband chose the duck with hoisin crepes encasing fresh chopped vegetables. Wow. Delicious and beautiful. I selected the lamb shank served on a curried basmati rice. It was quite good, but I missed the richness of being cooked in a wine sauce. Wine selection was nice and we were able to have a bottle of one of our favorite. Service was impeccable. Not inexpensive, but definitely worth going. I highly recommend a reservation.

This is a real Italian restaurant in the meaning like you are in Italy when you are there. We have been there several times and all the dishes we have tried are fantastic! We have been to Italy twice and this place bring us right back. Bravo!

Once we got the right address it wasnât hard to find. Itâs not on Kalamazoo Avenue but is on Michigan Avenue. Restaurant is relatively small, maybe 40 seats (guessing, didnât count). Decor is âeclecticâ aka old, second hand odds and ends. Horrible yellow paint. But I can live with that. Wasnât busy at 7:00ish. By 7:30 several tables were filled, but not all. Server was friendly and knowledgeable of menu items. We ordered a serving of pirogies to start. Okay. Just okay. Hubs ordered meatloaf special with German potato salad and red cabbage. Again, okay. Friends ordered cabbage rolls and cucumber salad (restricted diet), pork and spaetzle. I had the soup special, cabbage and sausage. Friends said cabbage roll and pork was good. Soup was okay. Limited beverage options. No liquor license. Server was slow to remove empty dishes. Speaking of servers. Call me old fashioned, or any other adjective you want, but I prefer servers without multiple piercings and nose rings. Just sayinâ. Iâd stop there for lunch once in awhile when in Kalamazoo, but would choose somewhere else for a nice dinner. Being of German descent, and having friends of Polish descent, and having traveled in Germany, Austria and the former Yugoslavia, I can honestly say Iâve had better German and Polish food.
